경상도 지역 메나리토리의 쟁점
경상도 지역에서는 음 조직을 중심으로 분석 및 분류 등의 메나리토리에 관한 연구가 축적됐기에, 그간 의 연구성과를 검토하는 것은 메나리토리의 규명에 있어서 필수적인 과정이다. 이에 본고는 경상도 지역을 중심으로 연구된 메나리토리 이론을 대비하여 주요쟁점을 파악하고 아라리토리와 메나리토리는 공존할 수 있는지, 새로운 음 조직은 메나리토리의 하층위 분류인지, 새로운 유형의 토리인지, 메나리토리의 지역 적 범위는 어디까지인가의 세 가지 논의와 함께 앞으로의 연구 방향을 숙고하였다. 경상도 메나리토리의 연구 동향은 보편적인 메나리토리 이론과 부합하지 않은 음계와 시김새, 선율 유형, 종지음 등을 하층위로 분류한 점 또는 모든 특징을 한데 묶어 지칭할 수 있는 상위개념을 생성 한 점으로 양분할 수 있다. 기존 메나리토리 외에 새로운 토리의 개념을 생성하기 위해서는 종지음이나 선율 유형의 특징적인 점을 모두 내포할 수 있어야 할 것이며 가창자, 인근지역, 노동의 강도나 환경 등에 따라 음 조직의 구조가 변화하는 경향이 있다는 점을 고려하여야 한다. 더하여 노동요가 주류인 향토민요를 연구할 때 통일된 채보의 규범으로서 악음분석의 정밀도를 위한 적격한 연구방법론을 숙고하여야 만이 지역음악의 특수성을 조명할 수 있다.
