기조발표 : 한국음악사의 세 가지 쟁점
이혜구 선생과 장사훈 선생의 연구에서 발견되는 한국음악사의 쟁점은 크게 다음의 세 가지로 요약할 수 있다. 첫 번째는 악학궤범 향악기 황종의 음고와 관련된 논의이다. 악기의 기원에 따라 황종의 음고는 차이 가 있음에도 불구하고 동일한 논리로 설명하고자 했다. 이로 인해 후대의 연구자들 사이에서 음고 해석에 대한 논란이 시작된 것으로 보인다. 두 번째는 옛 정간보 박자 표기와 관련한 내용으로 주로 여민락, 보허자, 영산회상을 중심으로 논의가 진행되었다. 이들 세 악곡은 1정간 1박이 아닌 대강을 한 단위로 해석해야 할 것이다. 세 번째는 정악의 계면조를 논의한 것으로 5음계의 계면조에서 3음계 계면조로 발전하며 새로운 정악 계면조라는 음악적 특징을 예술적으로 발전시켰다. 이는 정악의 독특한 음악적 특징을 보여주는 것이다. 이와 같은 두 선생의 논의는 한국음악사의 지평을 한 단계 발전시켰으며 한국음악 이론의 근간이 되었다.
Three Major Issues in Korean Music History
This article is intended to discuss the issues of Korean music history found in the research of Mandang Lee Hye-ku and Jang Sahoon. There are three major issues raised in the two teachers’ researches. The first is a discussion related to the pitch of Hwangjong(황종) from Akhakkyebeom(악 학궤범). Despite the differences in pitch of Hwangjong according to the origin of the musical instrument, it should be considered that controversy about the interpretation of pitches began in the later generations as they tried to explain them with the same logic in an aspect of scale The second is related to the intepretation of the old Jeongganbo(정간보) the time－unit box system in songs such as Yeominrak(여민락), Boheoja(보허자), and Yeongsanhoesang(영 산회상). These three songs will have to be interpreted as one unit(so called Daegang(대강)), not one beat for one Jeonggan(정간). The third is to discuss the tone of the Jeongak(정악), and it has developed from a five tone scale to a three tone scale, and artistically develops the musical feature of a new scale. It can be said that this shows the unique musical characteristics of Jeongak. These discussions on the issues of Korean music history have advanced the horizons of Korean music history to the next level and have become the basis of Korean musicology.
